1) Create a design on a spreadsheet like this:
2) Print it out to the size you want, and cut the paper along the slits you want the ribbon to go through. I marked where I cut with the red lines above. (You need to leave a little room between the bottom of one slit and the top of another, so measure that into your design).
3)Tape the paper to the shirt and use a washable marker to run along the cut slits so that they show up on the shirt.
4) Take the paper off, and cut the slits you marked on the shirt, but always start out smaller than you think you need! Then check the width of the slits by weaving the ribbon through it to see if it looks like you want it to. (Sadly I didn't leave much room between the slits and it might fall apart sooner only a few threads are between each one)
5) When you get the slits to the size you want, feed the ribbon through so that it looks like this on the outside:
I cut each piece for each row leaving a little bit on the ends (inside the shirt) to glue down with Liquid Stitch (I got it from Wal-Mart) like this:
Let it dry for a day and then wear it! =)
